He, he. I got it right.

Three bags plus carry-on, possibly also wheeled, will be a nightmare on the train. I can tell you that. I know that it's awesome to have a chic wive who really wants to look her best but that sounds like a lot of stuff which actually won't get used. This maybe a way to reign her in. Keep count of what she actually uses and what is "empty weight". Worst case she'll call you vindictive.
Best case, if you compliment her on every outfit she chooses, she will love how much attention you are giving her. It's a fine line.

You yourself could probably do the entire trip with a single 22" roller plus a cabin bag, if you pack wisely.

Back to bags. Given the new info I'd say to use two duffel bags. They are slimmer and longer (better to move in the train) and have the best weight to packing volume ratio of all rollable luggage because they lack the frame. At least use one duffel. Especially women's cloths are less prone to wrinkling and can be packed easier in a duffel because they are often less structured and not as large.

I'd seriously think about getting a 55 or 60l backpack. It will make it much easier to deal with everything. The max volume of convertible carry-on backpacks is around 40-45l. An Osprey Porter 45 or a Tom Bihn Aeronaut are quite roomy already.

If you want matching luggage, look at Eagle Creek for various bag type options with a unified look. Warranty is great, too, but weight is a bit on the high side.

Your max weight is limited to 23kg (50lbs) anyway per suitcase unless you fly a higher class or have some other privilege.

Good luck,
