each USD spent on ticket gives you 5 points, the more you spend, more points you get. It is expensive to get status with them, compared to other US airlines, but at least they're pretty straight fwd with their message
DY uses a similar rule, which I really like. Sadly, their FF programme is otherwise very poor - as far as I understand there is no notion of status. And I only care about the status. Miles are pretty much useless anyways (or at least have much lower value than status for a Y flier).
