I have been a member of M&M for at least 15 years and must sympathize with the OP. It used to be that Eco got you miles, Biz got you double miles and First got you triple miles. Simple and straightforward. Not just airlines but business in general was based on long term relationships and trust. All that has changed and now the airlines are looking to screw us to maximize profit and we try and screw them back to get something for nothing. Well, there never really was a free lunch was there. I consider myself fairly savvy in the FT world but even I got screwed on a paid first class UA ticket when it booked into a non-earning P class. But cynical as I have become I just turned my back on M&M, credited my expensive tickets to where I get status quicker (A3) and carry on. The airlines started it, not just Lufthansa, although I find them particularly deceptive, but we carry it on too. That endless quest for something for nothing.
