I asked this a while back but never got an answer, how do they heal with handicap transfer between the two piers? My parents are transiting through DCA (both legs republic) My mom has difficulty with stairs. They have a 3hr layover so its not the end of the world if they just reclear security.
No stairs either way - there's a bus between piers that leaves at the terminal level, or they can go outside and back through security like everyone else who doesn't want to wait for the bus (or who arrives after it stops operating). And there are elevators from the regional jet gates to the main terminal level.
