I have a SFO-CMB-SFO award trip, on SQ, with a stopover in SIN on the way back. I plan to go to KL and Penang during this stop over.

My CMB-SIN flight gets into terminal 2 at 7:55 AM on December 31st, 2012. If I book a Jet Star SIN-KUL flight which leave at 10:40 AM form terminal 1, will it give me enough time for the connection?

I figure I have to do all the following in that 2hrs 45mins:
• Immigration, and collect luggage and at terminal 2
• Leave my excess bags at the left luggage counter at terminal 2
• Take skytrain to terminal 1
• Check in for Jet Star flight
• Do immigration and security (at the gate) at terminal 1

Is this doable? Since it is the 31stof December will the airport be more crowded, less crowded or the same as any other day?

Would it be a safer bet to book the 12:10 PM Air Asia flight instead. It is about 25 USD more, but that is not a big deal if it means I can definitely make the flight.
