It sounds like you spend quite a lot - note that spending $25K will get you 10K elite qualifying miles.

I would personally suggest that if you can, you run your account up to at least the level of the tickets you book. If you fly overseas and prefer to fly business class, try to get at least 100K US miles. Maybe you already have a pile of US miles anyway. You will get a 5K discount on miles required to book an award flight, but only if the flight is entirely on US metal.
