During my stay this week, I learned that the breakfast service at Tusca now opens at 7 am. I believe it previously opened at 6. Unfortunately, for business travelers, this can be somewhat of an imposition, as a 7 am breakfast will cause one to be deposited on the Orange County freeways at peak rush hour. Obviously, this hotel caters more to leisure travelers, and this decision to open breakfast later cements that even more.

At checkout, I learned that I could have gotten a basic breakfast via room service. I think this hotel needs to do a better job in articulating this to its business traveler guests.

Don't get me wrong, this hotel consistently treats me well. Unfortunately, the decision to open breakfast so late probably means that I will be staying at the HR Irvine more frequently.
