As for the question about whether AI make money on one route or not, true or not, really, does it matter? Even if fantasy is indeed reality, it doesn't make up for the billions upon billions upon billions of taxpayer funds the airline's management and staff suck up on a daily basis.

I am not sure of the yields or whether these were one off, but the 2 787 flights i was on were both packed with mebbe a handful of seats empty.

I paid 10380 for a Y/T class fare BLR-DEL booked 4 days in advance using a corporate code.

I talked to 6 people on the 403 flight and all of them were transferring to international flights. Infact a majority of the pax seemed to be transferring to JFK, LHR and ORD flights as outside the gateway, AI agents were standing with placards with the flight nos AI127 etc etc.

I am guessing transfer pax are not as high yielding? So end result: even if flight is full, they may not be all that profitable.
