Just talked to an MP from Kerala yesterday to get sound-bytes on an unrelated topic and from what I understand, it is AI which is turning the screws here to get the MP's to in turn turn up the pressure on the Ministry. I guess these AI fellas know now how to get the work done.

Apparently the idea is to revive an old madcap idea to run an A310 COK-DXB-CDG-YYZ and vv. With the 787/777 they can prbably drop the DXB stop and build a scissor hub in CDG for 787 ops. IC wanted to build a CDG hub with the A332 fleet if you recollect.

I am not sure it will work: is there a market for international ops from Kerala other than the Gulf?

Someone does not want a single aircraft to be based out of delhi, there are some people who want it in Bombay too, but delhi being the hub, seems to be winning right now. Unfortunately there will be a lot of crew positioning happening from Bom because of this, and this positioning takes up a lot of revenue seats in j.

There are atleast a 100 pax travelling from Cochin to Bombay to connect to international destinations other than gulf every night.
