Absolutely! There's no way I'd settle for a Fabreezing of the room.
I'd also ask for another room and if none were available I'd insist on a "walk" to the next nearest Hilton or Marriott property that could provide a clean N/S room.
About smokers not even standing the stench of their own nasty habit. I once saw a guy in a Hampton standing in the doorway to his room blowing smoke into the hallway. When I told him not to be smoking in the hallway he said "It's my room" to which I told him (and I'm paraphrasing here) "Then take that crap INTO your room!"
I have zero tolerance for rude smokers. As with others experiences here, when I told the FD agent what I saw she had a real flippant attitude about it and said "Smokers ... what can you do with them?"
