Yeah, but deafness won't be an issue at LAX. Big signs with "Gate 44 / shuttle" clearly marked, bus is visible through big glass windows, remote terminal is small enough to easily scan the monitors & signs for your connection.
Also, look for the escalator going downstairs... that is where you will need to go. The escalator is between the Admirals Club and Starbucks. No matter which gate you land at, if you have passed both of them you have gone too far.
