I have a BA marketed flight (AA operated) from JFK-FCO coming up for our honeymoon. I have eVIP's but I know I can't use them on this flight.

In terms of asking GA's what do you guys think would be the best way strategy? Rather, who has more upgrade "power" - the check-in agent, the AAngels at the flagship lounge or the Gate agents at check-in? Any recommendations on strategy? Current plan is to tell them it's our honeymoon and see if they can do something.
