Hey guys:

I am flying this weekend and I'm trying to find an answer to the above question, but can't find it.

I am already flying with a rollaboard and a tote bag, but I wanted to carry my pillow, blanket, and book in a separate bag. When reading United's Carry-On Guidelines () it says "reasonable amount of reading material and overcoat or wrap" is not counted towards my bags, but nothing about pillow and blankets.

Just want to know before I head out this weekend if it is okay to put bring them in another bag in addition to my carry on and personal item.
