It stinks to have to baby sit reservations. It's not a sign of a "world class" airline. But it is what it is today. We should raise the fact to other FTers and UA. Hopefully, it is fixed.
UA is trying to run a business. I think most FTers and UA FFs would say poorly, based on their experiences recently.
Hopefully, it'll improve. Until then, you have to live with it.
BTW, as long as it isn't overly dramatic, berating, and emotional, I don't consider it a "rant" or have any need for apology to anyone. Other FTers should know about other potential negative (and positive) experiences.
You learn THE MOST about an airline that way. How else is better to learn? Read a company statement? Read a media article?
"Rants" have value. Ignore annoying ones and interact with constructive ones. Simple FT 101, I would say.
