And as you have Cathay Gold, you DO have free seat selection. Use the Finnair site to take you BA number out (if its already in) and replace it with you CX numbe. Go back to the BA site and you can select seats.

To be honest, i thought that was the case, but when i was told that i would be able to select seats for free, i figured i had misunderstood in the past.
As Raffles suggested, I put in my CX number and all is well. I have seat selection on all legs including UK domestic, Spanish domestic, CE MAD-LHR, and Iberia Business LHR-MAD. The Iberia seat selection had to be done on Iberia.com. What I can't understand is the message about the e-ticket not being issued. Must be a bug on the BA site I suppose.
