My previous run of AA cards hits its one year this month and I need some new cards. I was thinking of getting this card, mostly for the Admirals Club, but I'm not sure. I am a Platinum, and I could get close to EXP with the 10k miles, but I doubt I'll have 40k worth of expenses on the card. Since I am already platinum, getting Admirals Club access only costs $350. Is there any benefit that is really worth the extra $100? I just don't see it.
Consider getting the American Express Platinum and using the $200 of airline fee credits to offset the annual fee? It makes Admirals Club pseudo-membership run $250/year (or $150 in your first year if you haven't already gotten Global Entry).
