I spend almost 4 hours a day using mass transit to get to work We don't live in central Tokyo so train option would require several changes with luggage and in laws in tow. Car is also more flexible to explore around Izu without having to resort to taxis or buses. We booked Hanafubuki because it is accessible by train in case we don't drive.
