My top 5 peeves:
  • Needing to book a year in advance to have any chance of getting a seat on an overseas flight (Air Canada)
  • Business class seats blocked on trans-con flights unless you pay twice the number of regular miles (Alaska Airlines)
  • Limited shelf life on miles -- i.e. 5 and 7 year expiration even if you account is active (Air Miles and Air Canada respectively)
  • High fuel surcharges and other airline surcharges (not government taxes) on frequent flyer tickets.
  • Booking engines that indicate a business class seat is available, when it's a business class seat on a short feeder route and economy on the intercontinental route. (Air Canada)
