both. No, it's not even a direct flight or the same flight number. Yet the second segment is displaying the first one's inventory. So, not only can we not see inventory within existing bookings, we have to search each segment individually to get accurate info.
I'm sure others can easily replicate this glitch.
UA Insider, could you please have someone look into it?
it was this way before it was taken away - if AAA-BBB had R=3 and BBB-CCC had R=9, then AAA-BBB-CCC would show R=3. nothing new....you had to search segment by segment before to get accurate R available

I've been watching to see if R became available like a hawk since then and haven't see any, unless someone else was upgraded due to a higher status or having only one person on their PNR.
Although we want to sit together, I'm tempted to now split our PNR to insure we don't lose upgrades if R is parceled out a seat at a time. Other than a possible problem with one getting upgraded and the other not or IRROPS, is there any real disadvantage of splitting the PNR as to upgrades?
well if you are traveling late october you are comepeting against this 1K on the EWR-AMS leg who is also booked V and waitlisted with a GPU
