Have to agree with LuxurySkiFan... there's a real shortage of truly world class hotels in ski resorts across Europe.

I'm not personally a skier - but my husband is, and when I accompany him on trips, I found cuisine, service, accommodation and spa standards to be way lower than in the 'rest' of the luxury hotel world; and as a non skier - I'm judging these based on standards I find elsewhere, and not forgiving any shortcomings because the skiing is so amazing!

Le Melezin by Amanresorts in Courchevel is definitely an exception though. A truly world class hotel that keeps even a non skier like me happy. I would eagerly go every year if my husband would let me!

The Alpina Gstaad is also on my radar - the spa sounds like its going to be incredible, and it looks and feels very 'Aman' in my view.

I've stayed at Le Blizzard and thought the accommodation and service was superb - but really didn't like the spa.

The Chedi Andermatt is also on my radar, but only because I'm a fan of the brand. I can't comment on the skiing there, but my husband went a few years ago with friends and enjoyed himself - and he's an off piste junkie.

Agree re Four Seasons too! Would be great if they opened up something similar to Jackson Hole and Whistler in Europe. Ps. Amangani is incredible in Jackson Hole, highly recommend a twin centre stay with Four Seasons.
