Air vents help those with claustrophobia. It is usually worse in a warm, stuffy cabin. A cool breeze is a huge help and the ability to control the flow of air personally is a great aide in reducing the horror of being "trapped" in a metal tube for those who are claustrophobic. At least that is my experience .... YMMV.
