Originally waitlisted for upgrade on my trans-PAC flight out of SFO Saturday. Did not clear by T-24, and no email message advising I've been moved over to the "standby upgrade list", so I call 1k and the agents can only see that miles were deducted, but cannot tell if I am still on the list or not. Since check in cannot be completed online due to required visa check at airport, nothing to be done until the next day. At check in, agent says I am not on the list, she calls 1k desk and 25 minutes later I am on the standby list. Unfortunately, too far down the pecking order (perhaps due to the delay checking in?) and then an equipment change led to downgrades for paid C class so no hope anyway. The system definitely has some issues when it gets to T-24.
