Can AA realistically exit Chapter 11 with an ongoing labor dispute that threatens it's profitability and value?
I guess it's not impossible, but it seems unlikely, therefore given the very obvious distrust of the workforce for the incumbent management, I think you have to ask whether the senior management can quickly win the trust of the staff without cancelling too many of the changes they clearly believe are necessary. My guess is the relationship is so bad it's not going to get fixed quickly enough, so the question becomes one of who can change the management and when?
If that can be done quickly they can turn the mess around, the new managers will have a honeymoon period in which progress can be made and they could exit Chapter 11.
If they can't, most but maybe not all of the assets will be acquired by someone else, either as a semi-functional business or in pieces via Chapter 7.
