All this is proving very useful
From what you guys are telling me, and from what I can gather online - I seem to be gravitating to these 3 properties:
Le Melezin - Courcheval
http://www.amanresorts.com/lemelezin/home.aspx
The Chedi - Andermatt
http://www.thechedi-andermatt.com/#/en/home/thechedi
The Alpina Gstaad - Gstaad
http://www.thealpinagstaad.ch/
Now, the last 2 are not even open yet (The Alpina looks scheduled for late 2012 / early 2013 and The Chedi in late 2013) - but these 3 really do look like the very best that Europe has to offer.
What is interesting though is the difference in skiing at each of these destinations. Courcheval is of course deservedly famous, but I've heard that the skiing in Gstaad is a little limited for the more advanced. Andermatt looks very interesting! Great slopes for the kids and beginners - but the advanced and off piste options look very exciting...
Thoughts?
Any further suggestions always welcome...
Remember - criteria is: Luxury, suite accommodation, great cuisine, preferably a spa, and a wide choice of runs for the kids right up to us advanced adults...
