CW travel is certainly achievable a couple of times a year for many professional people if they are willing to make it a priority.
Cost of flying CW
2x GBP 2k CW tickets = GBP 4k
2x GBP 500 WT tickets = GBP 1k
CW premium = GBP 3k
Cost of two nights out a week
2x pints of beer for the man = GBP 5
2x glass of wine for the lady = GBP 5
2x dinner at a restaurant = GBP 20
Total price of a night out = GBP 30
2x nights out per week = GBP 60
50x weeks per year = GBP 3k
Conclusion: premium of flying CW = cost of two nights out a week over a year
On this basis CW seems perfectly achievable if you sacrifice going out. F would require greater sacrifice but this could perhaps be more easily achieved using Avios.
All that said, I expect that some people on this board do exaggerate though!
