No.

To keep silver status based on mileage, you need to have a balance of at least 25,000 Level miles in your Flying Blue account every year on 31 December (they look at your balance at the very end of the year, make a final decision on your status for the following year, and reset your Level Miles balance to zero*). If you have not achieved the required level mileage amount at the end of the year, your status is decreased.

*The difference is now that, if you have miles above the threshold required for a certain status level, the miles that exceed the threshold will be kept. So instead of having your Level Miles balance set to zero, they subtract just the 25,000 (for example) required for silver.

Note, however, that instead of qualifying by number of Level Miles, in Flying Blue you can also qualify by number of qualifying flights. If, in a single calendar year, you took 15 sectors that qualified for Level Miles, then this alone is enough to secure Silver status, regardless of the number of Level Miles you accumulated during that year.

There already is an extensive thread on the subject of Level Miles rollover.

If you have any further questions on rollovers, please ask them in that thread - that way, we won't have several parallel discussions on the same topic. Plus, it makes it easy to find all the information related to a single topic in a single thread.
