AF has a slightly improved soft product on the 'medium haul' ones of those (better food in C, pillows and blankets in Y, films etc) but to be honest, they are out of synch in terms of the competition (LY or LH to TLV, BA to Moscow, etc). While AF's rationale for keeping those medium haul-ish is understandable, I wonder if AF could justify using a separate configuration of the A32S on those like BD used to do with better C seats (perhaps inspired by the long haul PV cabin?) C tends to be quite busy on these routes and fares high so perhaps in that particular segment there would be a case for a differentiated hard product but that is really the only one in my mind.
Just thought I'd include a link to BA's new configuration and seats on longer medium haul flights (typically TLV, Central Asia, etc) using newly refurbished BD A321s (strangely enough still refurbished in BD's beautiful traditional colours)
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/19193824-post42.html I think it looks pretty impressive - C is fully flat on a 1-2 configuration (alternating with 2-1 every other row) and Y is regular layout and pitch but AVOD and USB ports at every seat, which I think is quite adequate a choice. I could imagine something of the type for AF for the TLV, BEY, and CAI of this world...
