Alexander Juniac to reorganize Air France to support its Transform plan

The construction of the restructuring of Air France has entered a new phase this week, with the validation of the voluntary redundancy plan of the ground staff and the announcement yesterday of a reorganization of the company.

Alexander Juniac explained his intention to implement, starting next year, a new organization, both simplified and giving more responsibility to leaders of new "economic units". Without reopening negotiations, the CEO of Air France agreed to have some talks with cabin crew unions on the terms of the plan, but not the 20% effort.

"We were able to reach agreements with the ground staff and pilots who have validated the plan with a large majority. With PNC, we were a millimeter close to an agreement. This is unfortunate, but it does not undermine our goal of a 20% improvement in our economic performance for this category, " he says. Without agreement, PNC will therefore unilaterally effort by 20%, but without the benefit of the full range of voluntary arrangement granted to other categories.

Measures already announced will be enough to bring Air France "a very positive impact in 2014" says the CEO of the company. The first effects of the savings plan began to be felt on the costs of Air France, which began to be reduced, he says. The heavy debt of Air France-KLM is hoped to be stabilized in 2012, and is expected to begin its decline at the end of this year. Always with the goal of reducing by two billion euros at end 2014.
