Question ... EK offers an instant upgrade option onboard for Gold & Silver members.

Does the available seat have to be in the 'redemption' booking category ... or is it simply a case of if there is a physical seat available in the class you want whilst you are onboard - you may upgrade to it assuming you have sufficient miles ?
