Someone in the WSJ was quoted as saying the new Maps app was a "total failure." But at least while driving, I actually prefer the iOS 6.0 maps application. Unlike my chatty TomTom app, the new Apple turn-by-turn just gives me what I need. Each upcoming street is clearly marked, and there isn't a lot of extraneous stuff on the screen.

Agreed that the lack of pedestrian & public transportation thing is certainly a bummer for those that were relying on on that in Google Maps. But so far, I'm OK with the new maps.
