Your can always book two flights, LIT-DAL and DAL-HOU and make the second one BS. You can change it to any flight that has a seat, even the next day and to anywhere (if you pay the fare difference).
It was a close in booking (day before), so BS or Anytime were my only options, and the split ticket was ~50% costlier. I did explore that option, because clearly if they're booked separately there is no need to abide by the 4-hour rule. It isn't worth the extra dollars to me for the longer stopover, was just seeing if there was some extra flexibility with "segments" on a BS fare. Understanding WN's business model, it makes sense that there isn't. They did draw one soul over (temporarily) with their double points promotion though.
