octeckels activated the 100MB plan on her iPhone for a trip to Scandinavia. Since Verizon doesn't use the SIM in the US (unlike say AT&T), it has to be activated. That required a call (and taking the SIM out to get the number). Likewise for deactivating at the end of the trip.
I remember her not being very sure about whether it would work, but indeed it worked great.
One note - tethering didn't work while using the plan.
Thanks for the info, interesting about tethering not working, was Scandinavia using a CDMA network? Hopefully I won't have an issue in Canada, but I should probably ensure the hotel I stay out has good wifi just to be safe. (I have an LTE iPad too).
