Your can always book two flights, LIT-DAL and DAL-HOU and make the second one BS. You can change it to any flight that has a seat, even the next day and to anywhere (if you pay the fare difference).

If you are checking luggage, you may need to ask the luggage office to hold it for you. I am not real sure if they do that.
