We went through T5 passport control with no wait on Wednesday morning at about 07.15. Indeed, when we got to the desks we had a choice of immigration officers to welcome us back! The non-EU queue was longer but not excessive. We were amoung the first off the plane however, so the queue would have lengthened, but at the time, perfect.
Is the problem the inability to forsee when there will be large numbers arriving and thus distributing the available staff better? I wonder, as there are reports here on FT that are both good and bad.
