Excellent advice.

Make sure you make your claim in writing (so there's a written track record) and, most IMPORTANTLY, that you copy the DOT (so that they have a track record of how the airline handle these cases).

Also if you copy the DOT you ensure that the case does not get handled by a run-of-the-mill CS rep whose primary job is to choose the appropriate denied auto-responder*
