Glad the PM line helped (usually I just call the GM line too).
For future reference, if you select the Cert from the SM account and then go to book the flight it allows you to apply the cert to your flight. But if you select then flight and then add the cert, that's when the issue arises.
Exactly -- I've had this issue every time I've tried to use e-certs. Annoying and another one you can chalk up under "bugs they're too busy to fix".
Another annoyance: not even this trick will work if you're booking for more than one passenger. The booking engine isn't smart enough to allow you to apply the cert to your own fare while charging the other passenger(s) full price.
