I have/had an electronic certificate for $250, issued by by AF-KL good on AF/KL/DL flights. I tried to book a DLoperated DLcoded trip with it on the phone and found that it has ti be verified by AF. Fair enough. How long does it take to get the verification. It's been more than 24 hours, 36 since I began the process. The DM desk could not even book and itnerary when I called the DM line Tue. night, as according to the DM rep, it had ti be done by the international desk, which does not open until 8:00 a.m.I was afraid that I would get stuck in a middle seat. I asked if they could hold a reservation and asign me seats while they still had aisle seats in economy comfort on all ATL-NRT-SIN-NRT-ATL legs.
Called at 8:00 the folloeing morning, gave my credit card info and the voucher number. Ticketing would have to wait until the voucher has been verified by AF-KL. In the mean time, the ATL-NRT flight no longer has any aisle seats. Seeing rhat prefered seats were disappearing, a aupervisor agreed to assign seats pending ticketing. Not sure if that asignment is firm. Now I am paat the upgrade window for DMs for the domestic legs.
No upgrades can happen until the itinerary has been ticketed.
Does any one know how long does it take AF to verify the voucher? I eas assured that since it was so close to travel date, the confirmation should come through quickly, within 24 hours.
