De KLM heeft twee pursers ontslagen omdat ze minder dan tien uur voor een vlucht alcohol hadden gedronken. De twee namen in Johannesburg 's middags samen met twee stewardessen een glaasje wijn, voor een nachtvlucht naar Amsterdam. Een van hen lichtte de gezagvoerder zelf in, die daarop besloot haar niet- werkend mee te laten vliegen. De drie anderen zeiden dat er geen probleem was omdat het buiten de tijdslimiet viel. Bij terugkomst gaven de drie toe dat ze de regels wel hadden overtreden, waarop de KLM hen ontsloeg. Bij de rechtbank bleef het ontslag van de pursers staan, omdat die een voorbeeldfunctie hebben.

Three flight attendants had a glass of wine with lunch within the 10 hour time limit. One flight attendant informed the pilot, the other two laimed it was not a problem because it was outside the time limit. At arrival they admit they trespassed the rules and KLM fired them. The court agreed with KLM as the two were pursers and so had an examplary function.

I assume it is about trespassing the rules and then lie about them as well.
