I hope I can word this correctly.

My husband is currently MVP. He needs 13,000 more AS miles, or 23,000 more AS/Partner miles, to become MVPG. So, 10,000 more are needed if you fly on partners.

My question is: If he takes a trip where 3 segments are on AS, and 1 is on AA, do the 3 on AS count directly towards his lower level needed AS calculation? For round numbers, let's say his segments will be 500/2,000 and return 2,000/500. How many of those miles will go directly towards the 13,000 he needs? One of the 2,000 segments will be AA, all the rest will be AS.

And is the AS calendar year for earning miles towards EQ a 1/1 - 12/31 year?
