SPG Plats/Golds/PreferredPlus considering this property may want to be aware that the hotel doesn't think it is required to guarantee 4 p.m. late check-out benefit to such guests. Good property otherwise, but those needing late check-out may find out at inconvenient times that the benefit is not applicable to this property as far as the property's own management is concerned.

As you are aware now too, the hotel's director of guest services claims the hotel is not required to guarantee a 4p.m. late check-out because he considers the property to already to be a convention or conference center property where a 4 p.m. late check-out can be subject to availability.
A pickle of a situation where guests book under one representation about an SPG benefit only to have a contrary representation presented by the hotel .... with the hotel in charge of determining what the guests deserve (or don't) for having been subjected to the pickle of a situation.
