Circling back on this many months late, but I wanted to close out the thread.

We ended up going to Thailand (SFO -> NRT -> ICN -> BKK in business on UA, OZ, TG Airlines) going out BKK -> ICN -> SFO in business on miles.

We stayed for 2 weeks spent in Chang Mai, Bangkok, and Phuket.

We stayed at the Le Meridien in Chang Mai (points) and was upgraded to a suite, Aloft in Bangkok (paid as points weren't worth it,) and Le Meridien in Phuket (on Points.)

Chang Mai and Phuket were the best value and were we had the most fun. The Le Meridien in Phuket has an amazing private beach, but you pay resort prices for food and fun.
