Upgrades are available on AF/KL using Delta miles or SWUs....I suggest you call back. Tell the agent to read a memo from yesterday I believe. Award availability has been limited but it is still possible and books into the same upgrade classes as before and has the same rules as before.
I wish you were right, but it doesn't seem you are. I just spent 50 minutes on the phone with the Skyteam Upgrade Desk, spoke to 3 delta reps and an air france rep. AF has O availability, but Delta cannot use it. The last person I spoke to seemed to know exactly what I was talking about, and straight told me that although AF shows O availability, they only give a certain amount of seats to DL to use for upgrades, and they are either exhausted or otherwise unavailable.
Worse, I can't even use Flying Blue points for the upgrade, because a Delta W ticket is coded to an AF A ticket, which is not upgradable with FB points.
