This would annoy me. I've been in several ELs where the food and beverage offerings are not that generous and not replenished quickly or frequently. To have freeloaders take what is supposed to be for those who are entitled to be there is irritating. I've popped in to get a quick snack to tide over only to find a bunch of empty dishes and the juices (at least the ones I was interested in) gone. It's one thing to have them taken by someone who is supposed to be there. But another if eaten/taken by those looking for a freebie. There are times when it is SRO - makes me wonder how many are supposed to be there vs freeloaders.

Luckily most of the EL I've been to are staffed. They ask for room and name. I've seen ppl (freeloaders?) turned away because they were not allowed access.

FYI: keep your voice low when saying room & name. A few yrs back, someone fraudulently charged a large bar and dinner tab to my room. Needless to say, it was NOT my signature and was removed from my folio.

Remember, we who are entitled to be there PAID for it in some way (paid, earned status, CC status). And by having a bunch of freeloader strip the EL only increases the overall expenses or result in a less than pleasant experience for those with legitimate access.
