Nope, this is Win-Loose situation for UFO and the passengers. "Lufthansa will pay for it" in fact means "Passengers will pay for it". Now we can see some results: Lufthansa raises prices on long-haul flights

"German carrier Deutsche Lufthansa AG said Tuesday it is increasing prices on long-haul flights with immediate effect, due to higher costs across the board.

Round trip economy class tickets will cost 20 euros ($26.10) more, while business class tickets will cost EUR60 more. First class passengers will need to pay between EUR100 and EUR150 more for round trip tickets.

For U.S. flights, economy class round trip tickets will cost EUR30 more, while business class passengers will pay EUR60 more, and prices for first-class tickets will go up EUR150.

Flights to and from Japan aren't included in the ticket price increases, and economy class connections between China and Hong Kong are also exempt.

The price increases also apply to its Austrian Airlines unit's flights, and prices for Lufthansa's Swiss Air unit will rise soon, a company spokesman said. [...]"
