Traveling with my GF this winter US-LHR-EU with US-LHR on AA in F and LHR-EU on BA in J. Her ticket is paid and mine is an award and they are on separate PNRs.

Will BA waive the seat selection fee for either traveling companions who are on different PNRs or connecting OW F pax? My OW status is Ruby, so I suppose I can now select from the 7 day mark. Otherwise, is AA able to secure BA seat assignments on award travel?

I wanted to make sure we could get seats together. However, for an hour in the air it wasn't worth paying for the guarantee...
