T4 you just get off the plane and there is a passport check right there so in theory you could just go to the back of the queue. Query whether you really save all that much money after paying for the LHR-MAD (no cheap one ways) and the risk of getting it wrong, even if you build in some extra hours in MAD (although the lounge is fine for a silver card holder).
I am getting an Avios ticket to MAD (lots of availability at the mo). Even after £27, I save £400 compared to the WT+ fare from LHR. If I don't do this, alas, I can only afford to fly WT - which is not nice for 11h.
I thought about checking a bag at LHR, and asking them to check it for the two PNRs (LHR-MAD-LHR-JNB), have done this before on LH without trouble... Anyone with experience of this?
