Interesting: Just remember that the new "Ningbo City Center" is not anywhere near the centre of Ningbo and rather is in the "new town east"

Hardly a location to compete with the Shangri-La.

Ningbo has however dramatically improved from a few years ago where the only hotel to stay at was the Nanyuan and getting a reservation there was almost impossible (for the record it is not too bad of a hotel actually but certainly not even competition with the Sheraton which has been open ~6 years now- and is actually in the centre of the city).
