Tried it at the W SV, worked great, the guide data was almost correct, except for Showtime.
The W SV updated their remotes, so they aren't a problem anymore, also they upgraded their programming to HD channels. I talked to one of the managers/front desk people in the morning, he said all the rooms except some corner rooms have the new remotes. The corner rooms have older TVs and they have new ones and will be swapping them out soon. (About 20 TVs.)
Also tried it at the Doubletree SJC, the programming was completely wrong.
So not worth it to pay the 99 cents for the programming guide data (per year). Also easy to lock up your phone. At one point, I thought my phone was dead, and then when I woke it at work and the app was still running in the foreground, it took a little while to get out of the app. Weird.
