I got through to a person at the Consulate General for the Russian Federation in Houston that knew my case. She complained that Travisa was slow to respond - something about it took 2 days - when the consulate was deliberating my case.

She went on to say that at this point it is too late to issue a different visa for me. She recommended that I contact SVO to see if they have any recommendations but she believes that there will not be a problem since passport control will not give me any grief because I am not going through customs (STR-SVO-MSQ) and arrive then depart from the same terminal. I sent them an email and I will call them if they do not respond.

I know the statement in my last post from the US Department of State says in theory I should be okay since I do not go through customs so I will print out that page in case I am given grief at SVO.
