How reliable is the "ontime performance" tool
I am taking the flight 998 from BUR to OAK on a weekly basis, on Thursdays.
That flight got delayed on:
- 09/13
- 09/06
- 08/23
- 08/16
Each time we landed at OAK with a delay between 1h20mn and 2hrs.
Southwest apologized and indicated "In the meantime, we offer a tool on southwest.com that provides historical “ontime performance” for each flight on a particular route. Once you have selected your city pairs and date of travel, you will be directed to the “Select Departing Flight” page. On that page, clicking on the flight number will open a window that displays the ontime arrival percentage for that particular flight, the percentage of cancellations on that route, and the overall average delay time as well. As you will see in the BUR/OAK market, ontime percentages vary throughout the day, and hopefully this tool will help you maximize your travel time."
I just checked that ontime performance for flight 998 and I am surprised to see that it has an historic of 100% on-time arrival! How often do they refresh those stats, as it is misleading and indicating wrong information?
